The first full-length album from the Orthodox religious black/death metal band OFERMOD is a true astral journey into the dark cosmic realms of the Unseen God!
This record features black/death metal that is even darker and slower than on "Mysterion Tes Anomias." Double bass and slow, dark riffs complement Nebiros's haunting, raw vocals. Michayah Belfagor knows exactly how to transform his instruments into a hymn, interspersed with Hebrew chants in a religious style. The band's themes and practices are rooted in the Kabbalah written by Thomas Karlsson (Dragon Rouge), who also contributed some of the album's lyrics. The Sitra Achra (the underside of the Sephiroth Tree) is celebrated in song, and the band surrenders to the dark vibrations of Tiamat! Cosmic ages and the destruction of the imposed matrix (temple) in order to achieve freedom are the main focus of the CD.
The music is for metalheads, etc., who take the subject matter seriously and can also appreciate these dark black/death metal sounds. Those who prefer bands that use melody and clichés as their image, like Immortal, Dark Funeral, or Belfegor, will find little to appreciate in OFERMOD, as a menacing atmosphere is created here, even supported by shamanic ritual chants.
Death is Holy Death!
