Athenar (Jamie Walters), a one-man band, has caused quite a stir with countless demos, splits and EPs. in 2024, he returns with Midnight's sixth album, Hellish Expectations. Athenar says of the album: "It's a knuckle dragger with a fat cutoff. Pure testosterone meat. Probably the most concise and direct Midnight album written in a weekend to date. The album came out of a pure reaction when we left the studio after listening to the raw tracks from the previous album Let There Be Witchery. The final mix of the album was good, but when I recorded it in the studio, I didn't like what I heard and demanded a new, huge album be written that weekend."
