Vader - The Beast CD

The Beast is the sixth album by the Polish death metal band Vader.

The flagship of Eastern European death metal makes a triumphant return. Unleashing a barrage of fire and destruction, The Beast relentlessly plows through the vast ocean of mediocrity, stubbornly maintaining its course of annihilation. In contrast to its equally powerful predecessor, Revelations, the overall tempo has been increased even further, allowing the death metal behemoth to frequently accelerate to ramming speed and venture more than once into old-school thrash metal territory. Prime examples include the Slayer-esque opener "Out Of The Deep," the completely unleashed "Firebringer," and the extremely brutal skull-splitter "Insomnia." However, the Polish band hasn't entirely abandoned mid-tempo tracks. Songs like "The Sea Came In At Last" and "Apopheniac" feature a noticeably slower pace. However, this doesn't detract from the power and impact of the characteristically raw and distinctive-sounding songs. The only thing that might take some getting used to—but is good!—is the playing of session drummer Daray, who is filling in for regular drummer Doc, who is out due to injury.
